Enjoy the sophistication of Lugano and unspoiled alpine countryside from this luxurious villa for 8, just 20 minutes from the shores of Lake Lugano. This is a stylish house that opens onto terraces and a well-kept garden, where guests can relax and enjoy the fresh mountain air. It is the ideal holiday choice for all ages.

The stunning open-plan living room is full of light thanks to French windows which open onto the shaded terrace. The high, beamed ceilings give the room an airy ambience. The furniture is a charming combination of contemporary and antique pieces, comfortable sofas and armchairs, with a large, flat-screen TV and an extensive library.

The dining room is off the main living area. It is furnished with an attractive table which seats 8 people. French windows lead out onto the veranda. An open staircase takes you up to the study/snug, where guests can work if they need to stay in touch with the office.

Back downstairs, the white, contemporary kitchen is off the living area, close to the dining room. It is well-equipped with an induction hob, oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge-freezer, toaster and a Nespresso coffee machine. There is a separate kitchen for preparing dog food and a laundry room on the lower ground floor.

The villa’s outside spaces have been created with as much care as the interiors. There is a comfortable, relaxing area with sofas and armchairs, where guests can enjoy their peaceful surroundings. A gas BBQ makes summer meals stress-free. Away from the house, there is another seating area, with L-shaped sofas and a fire pit for memorable evenings under the stars. Guests will find sun loungers arranged throughout the gardens.

Bedroom 1: The spacious master bedroom has a double bed; a sofa next to the French windows which lead out onto the terrace; a walk-in wardrobe; a flat-screen TV; a dressing table and an en suite bathroom.
Bedroom 2: The cosy second bedroom has a double bed, an antique wardrobe and an en suite bathroom
Bedroom 3: This airy bedroom has a modern double bed, writing desk, wardrobe and an en suite bathroom.
Bedroom 4: The fourth bedroom is on the lower ground-floor, accessed via a separate staircase. It is furnished with 2 single beds and a wardrobe.

Bathroom 1: En suite to the master bedroom this large bathroom is appointed with a bathtub, separate shower, 2 basins and WC.
Bathroom 2: This bathroom, connected to bedroom #3, has a full bathtub with a shower attachment, a basin and WC.

Sprinklers automatically water the gardens every night.

Localisation
The villa is hills above the fascinating city of Lugano, less than 4km from the Italian border. There are some beautiful hiking routes in the hills or down by the lakeside on the famous Sentiero dell’Olivo. For truly stunning views over the lake and the mountains, visitors should head to Monte Brè (12 minutes), reached via the inclined funicular.

The Piazza della Riforma is the heart of Lugano (21 minutes drive) and the ideal place for an aperitivo or espresso whilst you watch the world go by. The city of Lugano is well known for its rich cultural heritage. It is home to many museums and galleries. One of the most popular is MASI (the Museum of Art of Italian Switzerland) (18 minute drive) hosts regular contemporary art exhibitions.

For self-catering, there are several supermarkets within a 10-minute drive. However, the best option is the farmers’ market in Via Carducci (15 minutes) every Tuesday and Friday morning. Here you will find the freshest local ingredients to cook at home.

The closest international airports are in Italy – Milan Malpensa, 1 hour and 15 minutes away by car, or Milan Linate, a 1 hour and 30-minute journey.
